FloBots

So now a days music has been getting repetitive. Either there's a sexy girl with a "fat ass" or "huge breasts". It's all "fuck this" and "fuck that", "tap this" and "tap that"; what happened to this music that spoke truth, reality, about things that were going on in the real world. Not rhyming dumb raps, that you hear in every song on that "TOP 30 COUNTDOWN". I mean how many times have i heard "get money" or "I'm # 1 or I'm the freshest" same crap with different words encircling, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE STOP FOLLOWING THE DAMN CROWD?!. Please people, how about getting with the program? Let's listen to music that has a purpose, with a beat! Something you can bump your head to, or move your feet to that actually has a purpose and a meaning.

Now to the reason why I'm writing about this topic: FLOBOTS!
If your a true FTSMAG.BLOGSPOT.COM fan, or just come here to listen to the music, you've probably heard "Handle Bars" from the playlist. Now , this wasn't their 1st hit song but for some reason it caught peoples attention. They have better songs, with more entertaining and interesting topics that might interest the few of you that still have ears for REAL MUSIC!

This group, Flobots, has been around since 2005 but never really got their break till late 2007 doing opening shows for The Coup, Lyrics Born, Immortal Technique, Public Enemy and The Fray; all artists that create REAL MUSIC with REAL LYRICS, not the crap most of you call "music". But what i absolutely love about this group isn't the lyrics (even though their amazing and realer than REAL) it's the ability of a violinist, a jazz trumpet player, a guitarist, a bassist, and a drummer to come together and bring us hip-hop at a WHOLE DIFFERENT NEW LEVEL like never before. This is hip-hop, jazz, and classical music, with real top notch lyrics coming together to bring something new to your tired and same old music hearing ears. Now I don't know what amazes you, the readers, the fans, the listeners; but let me tell you when you can put that many people with that many different genres and put together ONE group and make it sound AMAZING, THATS TALENT, THATS MUSIC, doing the impossible! Now a days anyone can be a rapper or a singer and make an album, but these kids took on a CHALLENGE!

So if you like what I'm saying, and you want to check them out; search for these tracks:

Stand Up; We Are Winning: The Moon; Jet Pack; Rise; Happy Together.

You don't have to like them, they don't need to be on your MP3, you don't even have to look them up, but they are AMAZING! Here's a taste. . .

sweetie... hip hop will never die. keep the faith. it will be saved.. always has. lets stay true to what it is.. music. melodies constructed together with lyrics. violent meaning less reggaeton or rap gives and has given the world a bad influence and has made people forget and devalue good literature and beautiful melodies. but then again every piece of music is written by someone and what they might think is beautiful we might think is crap. and its true. the most famous artists write music thats meaning less, offensive and also degrading 2 women but it's only happening because its we're letting it happen we buy there cd's and so they're going to keep making that type of music. check these video's out.

Kanye West - soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain't Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that ain't even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like it's 96 again and all they do is hate on new shit? Niggas always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning... that's Nas level shit... he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas shit if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track "Silent Murder" on it. In closing... new niggas get ya money$$$$$$$$$$ Keep this shit fresh and original.... ain't no fuckin' rules to this shit and that's what real hip hop is to me.

lady s ur writting ur opion on a blog so u cant really get all defensive when people arent agreeing with u. Poeple will disagree no matter what and the last time i checked this blogspot thing wasnt about drama...it was for artist and writers.. people who have talent.. who are OPEN and willing to listen to people opions and comments...

i am not the person who wrote above this comment but i have to say i kinda do agree with that anonymous commenter (lol)... no i dont listen to hip hop or rap that music doesnt soothe me and neither do i flow the crowd but u cant lie when ur in a club and one of those hip hop booty shaking music pops up i kno ull be shaking ur ass to it.., that music is whats making money... sure it isnt good music and it makes my ears want to bleed.. but if their making money off of it then it must be good.. dont u think? everyone has different opinons on which musics are good and which are bad...music that i think is good u would probably think sucks and that is sycho... we all have our opions and i respect urs... maybe u should respect others... music is music... wheather its good or bad.. its still music...!!!!

and i dont want this to become a whole big argument...
im just giving my opion to an opinionated person...

thnx. and i didn't wanna leave to many videos on that other comment buht here is the silent murder track kanye was talking about. . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQmPCJY3mA8

muahszz. and by the way i meant no disrespect what so ever. i absolutely love the flobots i feel that they do have so much talent. their music is so different and i can definitely appreciate it for what it is because its beautiful. you cant lie. what they do truly is amazing.

but you shouldn't put down other music because it may not come to the same level. its all music and no music boring nor is it crap. like oliver said when you say listen to "real music" its like your putting a restriction on music. and that isn't right.

no but real talk the flobots are so talented tho. to be really honest with you i haven't heard all their albums. i haven't heard all of their tracks. but i did hear "handle bars" on the radio a few months ago and i am not gonna lie that song touched me. that song went inside of and literally touched me. i was just like wow. i was going through something with my family and i just turned on the radio that song came on and i listened to it but like really listened to it and i was just like wow. it was just so overwhelming and inspiring i literally felt like the track was talking right to me! it so easy to understand what their trying to say in that song and its something we hear as youth EVERYDAY and do nothing about it. but the way they say its just like wow. you know? and it makes you wanna get up and do something. and how they can make me feel that way that right there is truly awesome.
